About the role and school

We are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant (part-time) to join a welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets from September. This role is ideal for someone looking for a flexible position while making a positive impact supporting pupils with special educational needs.

The successful candidate will provide classroom-based and one-to-one support for pupils with Autism, ADHD and a range of additional learning needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help pupils engage with learning, build confidence and achieve their individual targets.

This opportunity would suit someone with previous experience supporting children with SEND who enjoys working as part of a collaborative and supportive school team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support for pupils with SEND
  • Support pupils during classroom learning and interventions
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement
  • Implement strategies outlined by the class teacher and SENCO
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and parents

Qualifications/Experience

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND is essential
  • Experience within a primary school is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK
