About the Role:
As a Graduate SEN TA, you will provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to children with additional needs, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote pupil progress. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver targeted interventions, manage behaviour positively, and help create an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment. This role is full-time, Mon – Fri from approx. 08.30 – 16:00.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with ASD, ASC, and ADHD in a mainstream classroom
- Assist with classroom tasks, group activities, and learning interventions
- Implement strategies to support emotional regulation, communication, and sensory needs
- Help pupils develop independence, social skills, and confidence
- Support the class teacher with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and pupil observations
- Liaise with teachers, SEN staff, and parents where appropriate
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including school events and enrichment activities
Candidate Requirements:
- Must have experience working with children (formal school experience not essential)
- A degree in education, psychology, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory)
- A genuine interest in SEND and inclusive education
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to support and behaviour management
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
