Teach Plus are currently working with one of the largest schools in the area, who are looking for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team. The primary school is also committed to supporting children to reach the highest academic standards possible. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be required to:

  • Lead and deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, or KS2 in the absence of the class teacher
  • Support pupils with a range of needs, including SEN, EAL, and those requiring additional academic or behavioural support
  • Work closely with teachers to plan, prepare, and assess learning activities under direction
  • Deliver targeted interventions and small group support to help close attainment gaps

The ideal candidate for this Higher Level Teaching Assistant role will have:

  • HLTA status or relevant qualification (e.g. Level 4 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience of working with children with Autism
  • Ability to lead whole-class lessons in the absence of the teacher
  • Experience supporting children with demand avoidance
  • A calming nature when responding to challenging behaviour
