About the role and school
Teach Plus are currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Mill Hill, starting ASAP.This full-time Teaching Assistant role will involve providing dedicated 1:1 support to a child in Year 6 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).The successful Teaching Assistant will play an important role in helping the pupil access the Year 6 curriculum, manage anxiety and emotions, and develop greater confidence and independence within the school environment.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with ASD and PDA
- Support the pupil in accessing the Year 6 curriculum and participating in classroom activities
- Implement appropriate strategies to reduce anxiety and support emotional regulation
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to provide consistent support
- Monitor the pupil's progress and adapt support strategies according to their individual needs
Qualifications/Experience
- Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
- Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role
- Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK
