SEN Teaching Assistant Start Date: ASAP Location: Hounslow Contract: Part-time, 5 mornings per week Salary: Β£108 - Β£115 per day - negotiable depending on experience

Teach Plus are currently working with a welcoming primary school in Hounslow who are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a part-time basis, starting ASAP.This SEN Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to provide targeted support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop confidence and make positive progress within a supportive classroom environment.

The school is a well-established community primary school with a strong ethos of inclusion, high expectations and positive relationships.The leadership team is supportive and committed to staff development, while the school promotes a calm, respectful and nurturing learning environment.With a broad and engaging curriculum, positive behaviour expectations and well-resourced learning spaces, the school provides an excellent setting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to make a meaningful contribution.

This SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity would suit a patient, proactive and compassionate individual who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs.You will work closely with class teachers and the wider inclusion team, providing personalised support and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.The school offers a collaborative environment where the contribution of a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant is valued and where you can develop your experience within a supportive primary setting.

This role would suit a Graduate Teaching Assistant who is wanting to embark on a career in education, as well as experienced Teaching Assistants.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN and additional learning needs on a one-to-one and small-group basis
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support academic, social and emotional development
  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and adapting learning activities where appropriate
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence, independence and engagement in learning
  • Work closely with class teachers, SEN staff and other professionals to monitor pupil progress
  • Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on pupil development and learning needs

Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
  • Have a passion for wanting to support pupils with SEND
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK
