About the role/school
We are recruiting enthusiastic individuals with performing arts backgrounds to work as Teaching Assistants in primary schools across Newham. These roles are ideal for actors, performers, and creatives looking for full-time work in a rewarding setting while developing transferable skills. You will support pupils within the classroom, with opportunities to work 1:1 or in small groups, including supporting children with special educational needs. Creativity, confidence, and strong communication skills are highly valued, particularly when engaging pupils who benefit from expressive and interactive learning approaches.
Job Responsibilities
- Support pupils' learning and engagement within the classroom.
- Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils, including those with SEND.
- Use creativity, movement, and communication skills to support learning and behaviour.
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom organisation.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
Qualifications/Experience
- Background in acting, drama, theatre, dance, or performing arts - highly desirable.
- Experience working with children or young people in any setting (education, coaching, workshops, youth work, etc.).
- An interest in supporting pupils with SEND.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Right to work in the UK.
