About the role

Are you an experienced, passionate year 1 teacher ready for a rewarding challenge? Do you thrive in a supportive, well-structured environment where pupil behaviour is excellent and senior leaders genuinely value their staff? If so, this could be your perfect next step.

We are proud to be working in partnership with a lovely 2-form entry Catholic primary school in the heart of Barnet, just a short walk from Burnt Oak station. The school is highly regarded for its nurturing ethos, calm environment, and excellent pupil behaviour. Staff wellbeing is a genuine priority, and you will be supported by a caring and approachable deputy head, who also leads the infant phase.

This is a unique opportunity for a resilient and skilled year 1 teacher to make a real difference. The class includes three pupils with EHCPs and complex needs, so experience working with high-needs children is essential. You will also be supported by a dedicated SEN teaching assistant, and you will be expected to lead and direct them in delivering effective interventions and support strategies.

What we’re looking for:

  • A qualified teacher with UK QTS and proven experience in KS1
  • Patience, adaptability, and a deep understanding of SEN
  • Confidence in working with children with complex needs in a mainstream setting
  • Ability to deliver engaging, inclusive, and well-structured lessons
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills — happy to collaborate with TAs, parents, and SLT

What the school offers:

  • A well-resourced learning environment and a commitment to inclusive education
  • Supportive leadership with a strong focus on staff development
  • A stable, welcoming team with excellent morale
  • Easy transport links and staff parking

If you’re ready to join a school where your work is truly valued and where every day offers the chance to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
