Teach Now is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with mild, verbal autism in a warm and inclusive mainstream primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with energetic, curious learners and has the skills to motivate through play, structure, and positive relationships. About the Role You will be supporting a bright, chatty and enthusiastic pupil who thrives with clear routines and engaging, play-based approaches. Your role will be to: • Provide consistent support during lessons, transitions, breaks and lunch. • Use strategies such as Now & Next boards, visual timetables, first/then routines and timers. • Motivate through the pupil’s interests, linking tasks to rewards and introducing movement breaks. • Encourage listening, turn-taking and social interaction through structured games. • Apply positive behaviour support and low-arousal strategies to help regulate energy and focus. • Be active on the playground and in PE, leading simple games that promote cooperation and confidence. • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, contributing to targets, reviews and daily notes. About You We are looking for someone who has: • Experience supporting pupils with ASD in a mainstream setting (EYFS–KS2). • A strong toolkit for attention, focus and engagement. • Confidence in building rapport with an energetic, verbal learner. • A proactive, hands-on approach—happy to use play and outdoor activity to support learning. • Patience, reliability, and the ability to follow agreed plans consistently. • Desirable: Team Teach/PRICE training, knowledge of social stories and sensory circuits.
