About the Role

Teach Now is working with a highly inclusive and well-established all-through school in Brent to recruit a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant for a full-time, temporary position starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and motivated individual who is passionate about supporting students with special educational needs to thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a supportive secondary school environment. The role involves working closely with students across Key Stages 3–5, supporting a wide range of needs and helping young people to build confidence, independence and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class and small-group support for students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties, and SEMH needs
  • Support pupils in line with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo and pastoral teams to implement effective support strategies
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement and inclusion in the classroom
  • Assist with differentiated learning materials and personalised support approaches
  • Support students’ emotional wellbeing and social development
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and SEN staff

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
  • A patient, empathetic and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive, professional relationships with students and staff
  • A clear commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
  • An interest in education, SEN, psychology, youth work or related fields
