Teach Now is seeking an experienced, organised and proactive School Office Manager to join a welcoming primary school setting. This is a fantastic permanent opportunity for a confident administrator and team leader who can ensure the smooth and efficient running of a busy school office.
The successful candidate will support the Headteacher, staff, pupils, parents and wider school community while overseeing key areas including administration, finance support, HR processes, health and safety compliance, premises coordination and day-to-day school operations.
We are looking for someone who is approachable, flexible and efficient, with excellent organisation, strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced school environment.
The Role
- Leading the day-to-day running of the school office.
- Managing and supporting the administrative team and Site Manager.
- Maintaining accurate pupil, staff and school records.
- Supporting the Headteacher and senior leadership team with administration and operational planning.
- Producing reports, correspondence and statutory documentation.
- Processing invoices, financial returns and procurement tasks.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, DBS checks and maintaining the Single Central Record.
- Coordinating staff absence processes, payroll administration and confidential personnel records.
- Acting as Health & Safety Officer and maintaining compliance records.
- Coordinating repairs, maintenance, contractors and school premises requirements.
- Ensuring the office provides a professional, welcoming and efficient service to families, staff, pupils and visitors.
Requirements
- Experience managing an office or administrative function.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Financial administration and invoice processing experience.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- The ability to work independently, manage deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- A professional, approachable and customer-focused manner.
Previous experience in a school setting, knowledge of systems such as Arbor, SIMS or ScholarPack, and experience with safer recruitment, school finance, health and safety or premises management would be highly desirable.
