About the Role
- Working closely alongside the Nursery Manager, you will help oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery while remaining actively involved within the rooms.
- You will support staff development, maintain excellent standards of care and learning, and help create a warm, stimulating environment where children can thrive.
- This role would suit someone with strong EYFS knowledge who is confident leading by example and supporting both children and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager with the daily operations of the nursery.
- Lead high-quality Early Years practice across the setting.
- Ensure safeguarding, EYFS, health & safety, and Ofsted standards are consistently maintained.
- Support and mentor nursery staff and contribute to staff development.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Complete observations, assessments, planning, and learning journals.
- Assist with staff rotas, room organisation, and maintaining ratios.
- Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
- Support children's emotional, social, and developmental progress.
Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare.
- Previous experience within a nursery or Early Years setting.
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
- Leadership or senior practitioner experience desirable.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, caring, and team-focused approach.
- Passion for supporting young children's development and wellbeing.

Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.
