Teach Now is delighted to be working with a thriving and ambitious secondary school in Harrow to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join the Design & Technology department from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ECT or experienced teacher who is passionate about food education, practical learning, and supporting students to develop confidence and creativity in the subject. The school is a welcoming and inclusive community with high expectations for both academic achievement and personal development. It was rated “Good” in all areas by Ofsted following an inspection in October 2024, reflecting the strength of its leadership, teaching, behaviour and overall school culture. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality, engaging Food Technology lessons that inspire confidence and creativity
- Teach across the full age and ability range, ensuring strong progress for all students
- Deliver safe, well‑organised practical lessons in line with health and safety requirements
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress in accordance with school policies
- Contribute to the development of the Food Technology curriculum and enrichment activities
- Establish a positive learning environment with high expectations of behaviour and engagement
- Engage fully with induction and ongoing professional development
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold (or be working towards) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Be a Food Technology or Design & Technology specialist, or have a strong related background
- Be enthusiastic, reflective and committed to high standards
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Have high expectations of all learners and a passion for inclusive education
- Be willing to contribute positively to the wider life of the school

Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary of ÂŁ56,154 is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to M6.
