  • Salary: £92.56 – £105 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
  • Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs? Teach Now is recruiting an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Croydon from September. This rewarding long‑term position involves supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who require additional emotional and behavioural support to thrive in the classroom.

Working closely with experienced teachers and the school's dedicated SEN team, you'll help create a calm, engaging learning environment where pupils can build confidence, develop positive relationships and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Build positive relationships that promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies consistently.
  • Support learning activities across KS1 and KS2.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and independence.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to support plans.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with SEMH, behavioural needs or additional learning needs.
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
