Teach Now have an immediate opening for a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to support a little girl in Year 4 at our school in Wood Green. You will be responsible for helping the girl to access the curriculum to the best of her ability as she is currently working well below her age academically. The school are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment that meets the unique needs of every student. We are seeking an empathetic and patient individual to work closely with a delightful girl with global delay, enabling her to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to the student with global delay, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to create a personalized learning environment that meets the student’s specific needs.
- Foster independence and promote social interactions and participation in classroom activities.
- Monitor and track the student’s progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and parents.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly global delay.
- A compassionate and patient nature, with the ability to build rapport and establish a positive relationship with the student.
- Knowledge of appropriate teaching and learning strategies for supporting students with global delay.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the student.
