  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH & ADHD)

Start date: 01/09/2026 • Location: Lewisham, London • Salary: £92.56 – £105 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Hours of work: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

About the Role

You will support pupils with SEMH and ADHD across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in an inclusive primary school in Lewisham.

Your role will involve helping children build confidence, develop positive learning behaviours and achieve their individual goals, working alongside teachers and a dedicated SEN team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Support pupils with classroom learning and social development.
  • Implement personalised support strategies and EHCP targets.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Promote independence and self‑confidence.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH, ADHD or SEND.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Passion for helping children reach their potential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
