Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training such as a recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Reception pupil with additional learning needs following medical treatment. You will support a lovely and enthusiastic young pupil who enjoys being at school but requires consistent, nurturing support throughout the day. The role involves working closely with the child at all times, supporting their learning, emotional regulation, and overall safety, including managing occasional seizures (full training provided by the school). This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, caring, and confident supporting pupils with complex needs in an early years setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Support learning, engagement, and development in the Reception classroom
- Assist with emotional regulation and impulse control
- Respond appropriately to the pupil’s medical and developmental needs (training provided)
- Build a strong, trusting relationship with the child
- Work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals
