About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Pastoral Support Manager / Head of Year Support to join a welcoming secondary school in Uxbridge this June. This is a non‑teaching role focused on behaviour, wellbeing, and pastoral care of a designated year group, with some lesson cover required. You will play a key role in supporting students to succeed both academically and personally. Act as a strong role model whilst maintaining high expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead behaviour management and pastoral support for a year group
  • Respond to incidents using restorative and sanction‑based approaches
  • Build positive relationships with students to support engagement
  • Monitor attendance and liaise with families and external agencies
  • Provide classroom supervision and cover lessons when needed
  • Support safeguarding and targeted interventions
  • Act as a strong role model whilst maintaining high expectations

Requirements

  • Mandatory: Experience working with challenging students
  • Experience working with young people (school or similar setting)
  • Strong behaviour management and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Confidence supervising classes
  • Excellent communication and a proactive approach
  • Commitment to supporting students with a range of needs, including SEN
