We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong background in working with children with Autism to join our team. The successful candidate will be working on a one-to-one basis with a girl in year 4 who has Autism. The girl is very intelligent and very energetic, therefore needs someone to keep her engaged and on task.

This role is at a lovely 1 form entry school in Finchley Central with parking onsite and great transport links within a 5 min walk.

The Role:
  • Working with the girl to provide academic, social, and emotional support in line with her Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities to support the girl’s learning and development
  • Monitoring and assessing the girl’s progress, identifying areas of strength and areas for development
  • Providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO on the girl’s progress
  • Ensuring the girl’s safety and welfare at all times
The Candidate:
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of working with children with Autism in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of Autism and the strategies used to support children with Autism
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy and a positive attitude
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
