Teach Now are looking for an experienced SEN TA to join a lovely one form entry school in Newham. The successful candidate will work in the Autism Provision of the school alongside other like-minded and experienced teachers and teaching assistants. This is a specialist unit on the same site as the mainstream school, with 2 classrooms catering to 10 children in each class. The provision offers an autism-friendly environment where our children are happy and stimulated; each child in the provision has had an Autism Diagnosis. This is the perfect role for someone with experience supporting children with autism; use of Makaton, PECs or BSL are desirable.
Qualifications:
- Experienced with a passion to work with SEN students
- Trained or experienced in Makaton, PECS or be Team Teach trained
- Able to communicate effectively as part of a team
- Able to commit for the duration of the placement
- A minimum of 1 month working in a UK classroom environment within the last two years
- Honest and compassionate
- Happy to complete training to further develop their knowledge and understanding in education
- DBS checked or happy to complete one
