Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Westminster, West London (W9) | Pay: £110 – £140 per day | Full‑time, long‑term temporary | Start Date: September2026

Role Overview

This varied role involves supporting pupil learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 while collaborating with staff to promote a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted English and Maths interventions, primarily in Year3.
  • Lead phonics intervention groups in Reception and Year1.
  • Provide class cover from Reception to Year4 as required.
  • Support teachers, promote positive behaviour and help pupils reach their full potential.
  • Work closely with staff to ensure high‑quality learning and support across the school.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Hold HLTA status or have significant experience at HLTA level.
  • Previous experience in UK primary schools (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum, English, Maths and Systematic Synthetic Phonics.
  • Confidence leading whole classes and delivering effective interventions.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable and passionate about supporting children's learning.
