Teach Now is recruiting a capable and academically confident KS2 Teaching Assistant for a long-term role in a Harrow primary school. Working alongside an experienced class teacher, you will support pupils as the curriculum becomes increasingly demanding. You will explain tasks clearly, address misconceptions, lead small-group work and help children develop the organisation and independence they need for success in upper primary education. This role would suit a teaching assistant who enjoys the academic side of classroom support and wants to make a measurable contribution to pupil progress.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead focused groups in reading, writing and mathematics
  • Reinforce key vocabulary, concepts and problem-solving strategies
  • Provide additional support for pupils working below age-related expectations

  • Support pupils with SEND without limiting their independence

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 teaching-assistant qualification, degree or experience supporting Year 5 or Year 6 pupils would be advantageous.
