Bring Biology to Life An inclusive secondary school in Enfield is looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Biology Teacher to join its Science department from September.

The successful Biology Teacher will deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ scientific understanding, practical skills and curiosity about the natural world.

The timetable will include Biology across KS3 and KS4, with potential opportunities at KS5 for a suitably experienced candidate.

The department values practical learning, clear explanations and collaborative planning.

  • Your Responsibilities
  • Teaching Biology and general Science across the secondary age range
  • Planning well-sequenced lessons and practical activities
  • Preparing students for GCSE examinations
  • Ensuring practical work is safe and purposeful
  • Assessing progress and providing effective feedback
  • Adapting teaching for students with different learning needs
  • Contributing to intervention and revision programmes
  • Working closely with Science teachers and technicians

Essential Criteria

  • QTS or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
  • A strong academic background in Biology or a related subject
  • Recent secondary Science teaching experience
  • Secure knowledge of KS3 and GCSE Biology
  • Strong classroom-management skills
  • An organised and reflective approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
  • Experience teaching A-level Biology would be advantageous but is not essential.
