Overview

Do you have experience working with students who present behaviours associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Teach Now are recruiting on behalf of a 2 form entry primary school. This is a thriving and inclusive school located in the heart of the Borough of Barnet, currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This position involves working closely with a bright and energetic boy in Year 1, who presents behaviours associated with ASD and ADHD.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to the student, implementing personalised learning strategies and accommodations tailored to their needs.
- Support the student in developing social skills, managing sensory needs, and fostering their academic progress.
- Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the student’s well-being and engagement.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly ASD and ADHD.
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desired but not essential).
