Position: Early Career Teacher (Geography)
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent. Start Date: 03/09/2026. Salary: £37,868 – £39,851 per year. Salary will be determined in line with the Outer London Main Pay Scale and aligned to the Early Career Teacher (ECT) pay range (M1–M2). The role is suitable for ECTs, with salary awarded at M1.
About the Role: Are you a passionate Early Career Teacher of Geography eager to inspire young people to understand the world around them? We are recruiting on behalf of a high-performing, Ofsted-rated Outstanding all-through school in Redbridge, where a full inspection in November 2023 confirmed the school remains at the highest grade. The school includes primary, secondary and sixth-form provision and is known for its high expectations, excellent behaviour for learning, and commitment to providing an exceptional education.
What You’ll Do
- Teach stimulating and well-structured Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities may be available).
- Plan lessons that promote enquiry, critical thinking, fieldwork skills and real-world application.
- Support students preparing for GCSE Geography, bringing contemporary issues such as sustainability, climate change, urbanisation and global development to life.
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and ensure all learners are challenged and supported.
- Contribute to department meetings, curriculum planning and pupil enrichment activities, including trips or themed events where appropriate.

Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Geography specialism
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach KS3 and KS4
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- A genuine passion for inspiring curiosity about the world and global issues
- The ability to commit to a permanent role starting 03/09/2026
