About the Role
Working closely alongside the Nursery Manager, you will help oversee the smooth day‑to‑day running of the nursery while remaining actively involved within the rooms.
Youll support staff development, maintain excellent standards of care and learning, and help create a warm, stimulating environment where children can thrive.
This role would suit someone with strong EYFS knowledge who is confident leading by example and supporting both children and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager with the daily operations of the nursery
- Lead high‑quality Early Years practice across the setting
- Ensure safeguarding, EYFS, health & safety, and Ofsted standards are consistently maintained
- Support and mentor nursery staff and contribute to staff development
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals
- Complete observations, assessments, planning, and learning journals
- Assist with staff rotas, room organisation, and maintaining ratios
- Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment
- Support childrens emotional, social, and developmental progress
Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
- Previous experience within a nursery or Early Years setting
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures
- Leadership or senior practitioner experience desirable
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, caring, and team‑focused approach
- Passion for supporting young childrens development and wellbeing

Salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training.
