Overview: Work across the whole school from Nursery to Year 6 and cover the SEN Unit with the aim to specialise in one phase.

Responsibilities:

  • Cover class teachers
  • Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
  • Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement

Safeguarding and recruitment: The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and safer recruitment practice. An enhanced DBS and Disqualification check is required for all successful applicants and references will be requested for shortlisted applicants prior to interview and will form part of the interview process. The successful applicants will also be expected to undertake a medical questionnaire.

Kingsthorpe Grove Primary School is a forward thinking, innovative town primary school with 480 children on roll. We have a Nursery and two SEN provisions, one to support students with ASD and one to support schools who have students with SEMH needs. The school was inspected by Ofsted in December 2023 and was graded ‘Good’.
