Northampton Primary Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated Trust Finance Assistant to join our Central Finance Team. This part-time role, comprising 15 hours worked flexibly across each month during term time, is essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of our financial transactions and support services for our schools.
As the Trust Finance Assistant, you will report directly to the Trust Financial Controller and work closely with the Trust Finance Officer and other members of the Central Team. You will play a key role in processing and managing financial transactions accurately within our accounting system, as well as providing vital support for the efficient ordering and payment of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Process transactions in the Northampton Primary Academy Trust bank account accurately and efficiently, adhering to agreed deadlines.
- Produce regular payment (BACS) runs, processing purchase orders and invoices in line with the Trustβs Policies.
- Prepare and process purchase orders for NPAT and NPAT schools.
- Investigate and follow up on any transactions with NPAT schools.
- Manage supplier and customer relationships, including setting up and maintaining records, performing due diligence, and reconciling statements.
- Support the Central Finance Team in maintaining the Trust contract register.
- Handle the Central Finance Inbox, ensuring timely responses to inquiries.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within the education sector.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft 365
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and task management.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices is desirable.
