Te Rito Maioha Early Childhood New Zealand – Nelson
Te Rito Maioha is a Category One rated tertiary provider and a Te Tiriti-led organisation committed to strengthening outcomes for tamariki, whānau and hapori through high-quality, culturally grounded teacher education.
We are seeking a Lecturer | Kaiako to join our team in a full-time role based at our Nelson | Whakatū Regional Education Centre, teaching within our BTch (ECE) or GradDip (ECE) programmes.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality, culturally responsive teaching and help shape the next generation of teachers. You will support tauira success and embed te Tiriti o Waitangi in teaching and learning practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- preparing and delivering course material
- assessing student work and providing meaningful feedback
- supervising student teacher placements with mentorship and guidance
- developing and updating curriculum materials
- contributing to programme administration, including recruitment and retention
- participating in research and scholarly activity
We are looking for someone with:
- a postgraduate qualification (Masters) in Education or a related field
- a strong background in Early Childhood Education
- full teacher certification and a current practising certificate
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- commitment to innovative, evidence-based and student-centred teaching
- the ability to work collaboratively within a team
Research and publication capability is desirable.
