We are excited to invite applications from an experienced, registered and qualified kaiako to join our warm and supportive under-two’s team. This is a full-time, fixed-term position (10 months), covering a study sabbatical, and a wonderful opportunity to be part of a close-knit, community-focused preschool.

Te Pito o te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley Community Preschool is a small, community-based preschool nestled in the heart of the city on the Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College campus. Licensed for 42 children aged 0–5 years, we operate from 8.00am to 4.00pm. We are proud of our strong connection with Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College and of the care and education we provide to our culturally and linguistically diverse community. Our environment is welcoming, inclusive, and grounded in respectful relationships with tamariki, whānau and each other.

We are looking for a kaiako who:

  • Holds a minimum Level 7 ECE qualification with current teacher registration
  • Has at least two years’ teaching experience
  • Is passionate about working within a culturally diverse community
  • Demonstrates a strong, genuine commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice
  • Is currently based in New Zealand and legally entitled to work – we are not currently offering visa sponsorship to offshore candidates
