Overview

In this role, you will lead Production and Logistics to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient products while driving operational excellence. You will shape and implement strategies that improve quality, delivery, and cost performance, while developing a high-performing team. You’ll partner across planning, procurement, and quality to drive continuous improvement and customer-focused outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to influence site strategy, lead large-scale transformations, and foster a culture of Lean, safety, and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate Production and Logistics activities to ensure seamless cross-function alignment
  • Develop and execute operational strategies, policies, and best practices to improve performance
  • Drive capital investments, cost-saving initiatives, and continuous improvement projects
  • Optimize and stabilise production and logistics processes for efficiency and quality
  • Identify operational risks, implement mitigation plans and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Planning to maximise service levels and delivery
  • Promote a customer-focused culture within operations
  • Manage budgets, expenditure, and resource planning
  • Lead training, development, and performance reviews for direct reports
  • Drive 5S standards and world-class operational excellence
  • Prepare and present KPI reports to site leadership
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Benchmark performance and adopt best practices across manufacturing and logistics
  • Promote cross-functional communication and sharing of best practices
  • Deputise for Plant Manager as required
  • Undertake other duties to support business objectives

Key requirements

  • Experience leading Production and Logistics in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Strong Lean Manufacturing, Lean Logistics, Kanban, and CI competencies
  • Track record of delivering large-scale operational transformation and value stream improvements
  • Collaborative leadership with coaching and people development focus
  • Experience leading organizational change and building leadership capability
  • Comfort operating in multi-value stream environments
  • Understanding of advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and process optimisation
  • Experience managing CapEx, automation, and capital investment projects
  • Commercial acumen balancing quality, cost, delivery, and performance
  • Background in automotive, aerospace, or high-performing manufacturing sectors desirable
  • Ability to build and develop high-performing teams and drive continuous improvement
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence strategic change
  • Experience supporting growth and investment programmes
  • Results-oriented with resilience to lead operational excellence initiatives
