The Production Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of production operatives to ensure that daily output, quality, safety, and efficiency targets are achieved. The role involves hands-on supervision, people management and continuous improvement within the production area.
Job Requirements
- Compliance to EH&S Policies, safety standards and COSHH/Risk Assessments.
- Lead daily GO meetings.
- Agree the production plan with the planning team.
- Drive adherence to the production plan, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions where required.
- Be the key communicator on production to the planning team, including completions, delays, and recovery actions.
- Root cause deviation to execution of the production plan.
- Maintain, update and assist in the creation of routings and capacities.
- Maintain the area skill matrix and create training plan for knowledge depth.
- Assist in implementing new procedures and operational improvements with correct documentation.
- Promote standard work, 5S, and waste reduction initiatives on the shop floor.
- Coordinate with maintenance, mechanical engineering, EHS and quality to ensure productivity.
- Collect, analyse, and maintain operational data.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for management on area performance.
- Lead and support continuous Improvement Initiatives to drive efficiency, safety and quality in the area.
- Cover for production supervisors as needed.
What Your Background Should Look Like
- 2-4 years of experience in administrative or operations leadership roles.
- Experience in Manufacturing environment and processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
