This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping supplier quality excellence within a dynamic, fast‐paced environment. In this role, you will take ownership of supplier quality performance, working closely with global suppliers and cross‐functional teams to ensure products are right first time and ready for production. You will lead quality planning, drive continuous improvement and use data‐led insights to strengthen supplier capability and support business growth. This role offers the chance to influence outcomes, partner with experts across engineering and procurement and contribute to a culture of high standards and continuous improvement.
Your New Role
- Act as the single point of contact between the organisation and suppliers for all supplier quality‐related topics and issues.
- Lead supplier APQP activities to ensure incoming quality is planned, validated, and assured prior to PPAP approval and production release.
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance through coaching, training, performance management, recognition, and corrective actions, including supplier restriction or disqualification where required.
- Measure, analyse, and communicate supplier performance to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Evaluate, qualify, and approve new and competitive suppliers in collaboration with commodity and procurement teams.
- Review, approve, amend, or reject supplier PPAP submissions for new products and changes to existing components.
- Monitor quality data within operational systems to ensure accuracy and develop reporting to track supplier trends and performance.
- Review quality specifications and ensure supplier compliance; partner with engineering to clarify or update specifications when required.
- Clearly communicate and enforce organisational quality standards, requirements, and expectations with suppliers.
- Lead and validate supplier containment, corrective, and preventive actions, driving structured supplier quality improvement roadmaps.
- Conduct supplier process and system audits and maintain working knowledge of ISO and TS quality system requirements.
- Chair Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key suppliers.
- Coordinate and support supplier engagement events, including Supplier Days.
- Perform source inspections and product assessments at supplier locations as required.
Your Ideal Background
- At a minimum - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other engineering discipline plus 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 preferred AS9100.
- 5+ years in supplier development role.
- Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt certification.
- 5+ years conducting quality audits.
- 5+ years in manufacturing environment.
- Practical application of 8D, 5-why and Ishikawa.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
- Excellent people skills.
