Job Overview
TE Connectivity\’s Supplier Development Teams find and develop suppliers to support the strategic sourcing organization in driving incremental performance in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They teach new suppliers on how to work with TE (portal access, e-procurement tool usage, TE procedures, etc.). They extend TE Operational Advantage into the supply base to generate continuous improvement in the extended value stream, deliver incremental improvements through supplier development lead projects and achieve improvement targets specific for supplier development. They also help drive selection and development of the best total cost supply option in the region where the commodity or service is consumed. They keep abreast of emerging market options and inform the broader procurement organization of trends and new supply options.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop strategies to improve Supplier Quality for suppliers located in the EMEA region.
- Support cross-functional teams for Quality issues originated by Supplier Quality, focusing on improving customer satisfaction.
- Direct SQE team to perform risk assessments, source inspections, and technical reviews for their suppliers.
- Prioritize Improvement activities and support SQE team to assure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Owner of FAI and PPAP process for the EMEA region.
- Develop and implement training strategies to upskill teams for quality tools used in supplier development such as FMEA, 8D, and problem-solving tools.
- Support sites for compliance to AS9100D.
- Communication to suppliers for supplier quality scorecard.
- Drive quarterly business reviews with suppliers focusing on reviewing performance and implementing improvement activities.
What your background should look like:
- Motivated individual with the ability to learn quickly and work in a self-directed work environment with minimal supervision.
- Experienced in leading and developing a group of direct reports.
- Ability to take ownership of actions and lead to closure. Strong project management skills.
- A clear communicator who can speak and present confidently to a diverse audience, including senior management and business partners.
- Technically competent to interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Materials, Supply/Demand Management as well as all levels within the Supplier’s organization.
- Fluent in English; French is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or other related disciplines.
- Proficient with MS-Office, Minitab, eQMS, and SAP.
- Experience with Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Development, or Supply Chain fields.
- Practical Problem Solving, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone experience.
- Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt certified – Master Blackbelt is a plus.
- Certified AS9100 Auditor or similar QMS. Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Production Part Approval Process is a plus.
- Willingness to travel and interact proactively with TE manufacturing sites and suppliers (25%~50%).
