Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components, and conduct analysis on relative reliability considering cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. They develop, implement, and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, recommending corrective actions when necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and industry standards related to product environmental compliance, technical and testing standards, quality control, and reliability programs, aiming to optimize material and labor use, analyze failures, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and communicate effectively with customers.

As a Quality and Reliability Apprentice, you will support a specific Value Stream (Wire & Cable) to ensure products meet company and industry standards, codes, and specifications. You will assist with customer complaint feedback through problem-solving activities, support revisions and installation of quality control systems, and help develop analytical methods to establish product reliability.

Key Tasks:

  • Support Customer Quality Complaint Handling: Use a team approach to conduct 8D responses, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and validation of effectiveness for cost-effective solutions. Collaborate with departments to meet deadlines and ensure timely communication via TE Complaints Handling System.
  • Negotiate deviations and concessions with customers and provide necessary documentation for approval.
  • Assist in Value Stream Change Management activities and ensure adherence to procedures.
  • Support Scrap Reduction Initiatives and promote a \’Zero Defect\’ mentality using tools like Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, SPC, and PFMEA.
  • Develop and implement quality processes aligned with business needs, and identify opportunities for internal process improvements.
  • Participate in external certification audits and internal audits, ensuring proper resolution of non-conformances.
  • Promote TE Connectivity’s Lean methodology (TEOA) and engage with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with Incoming Quality and Supplier Development teams to inspect and address non-conforming products.
  • Work flexibly, including extended hours as needed.
  • Support the wider quality team as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ideally, a qualification in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Quality Assurance.
  • Practical, technical mindset with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
