We are seeking an Assembly Operator/Production Operator to join our fibre optics production team. This entry-level position is responsible for performing routine tasks in the assembly and packaging of fibre optic components. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and package fibre optic connector components following standard work instructions
- Terminate single-fibre cables and perform basic polishing and testing procedures
- Operate basic production equipment under close supervision
- Perform visual inspections and measurements using callipers or gauges
- Accurately complete production documentation to maintain product traceability
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in accordance with cleanroom standards
- Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE including gowns, gloves, hair nets, and safety glasses
- Support production goals by working efficiently and communicating effectively with team members
- Participate in cross-training to support flexibility across workstations
- Escalate equipment or quality issues to supervisors or technicians
- Assist with inventory tracking and reporting material usage
- Demonstrate accountability and respect for confidential information and team collaboration
Qualifications
- Hands on experience of 6 months to 1 year in fibre optics manufacturing industry is preferred
- Basic understanding of hand tools and ability to follow written instructions
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain in a stationary position for extended periods
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to support production demands
- Proficiency in reading and understanding English instructions
- Ability to work in a clean room environment wearing all required clean room gowning garments and PPE (gowns, shoe booties, hair nets, nitrile gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes)
