Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products based on input from marketing, customers, Operations Teams, Development Engineers, or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications, including modifications for new applications, consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to improve quality and reduce costs, while meeting customer requirements. They may support product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer needs. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Role Statement:

This role provides laboratory support to the Analytical team within the Aerospace, Defence, and Marine business unit. Responsibilities include routine testing, sample preparation, housekeeping, maintaining Safety Data Sheets, COSHH, and Risk assessments.

Key tasks include:

  • Supporting testing requirements
  • Performing routine analytical tasks accurately following strict methodologies
  • Sample preparation – potting, cutting & grinding
  • Supporting printing and cleaning 3D printed parts
  • Wet and dry analytical techniques
  • Assisting in chemical inventory management including indexing SDS on MSDSOnline
  • General laboratory housekeeping
  • Participating in training courses

Qualifications & specialist training required:

A Level / BTEC in science or engineering discipline

Desired background:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
  • General knowledge of laboratory equipment and usage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer
  • Open and approachable attitude
  • Technical and practical hands-on approach

Job Specific Training:

  • Suitable laboratory training will be provided
  • Opportunity to study part-time at college for a higher/degree-level qualification
