Job Overview
TE Connectivity\’s Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping / molding / assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s) and advise plants on tool and machine duplications / corrections / improvements. They design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. They act as interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes.
Primary Function
1. To supply Assembly departments with inks, potting compounds and other materials as required to maintain their stock levels to support continued production.
2. To maintain stock control of materials and equipment to ensure continuous function of the dispensing process.
3. To observe COSHH regulations and company procedures at all times in order that safety levels may be maintained.
Support Function
1. To analyse and control plating solutions and associated processes as per schedules.
2. To support Lab Techs in the operation and control of effluent treatment plant and maintaining clarifier, probes, filter cake manufacture and reagent levels.
3. To maintain laboratory records and reporting data to meet company and legislative requirements.
4. To ensure housekeeping standards are such that no decline in laboratory equipment or environment occurs.
5. To develop dispensing and analytical techniques as required, normally in conjunction with Technical Plating Manager.
6. To support in the stock control of materials and equipment to ensure continuous function of the Plating laboratory.
7. Any other reasonable task as may be requested from time to time to support the function of the department
What your background should look like:
1. Sound education particularly in Math, English and preferably chemistry.
2. Dispensing equipment, plating equipment and analytical equipment.
3. Decides and recommends maintenance and control of plating solutions and associated baths. After training, recommendations regarding purchase of new equipment and changes in plating processes.
4. High degree of initiative required as job holder will be working unsupervised on a daily basis. Ability to recognise hazardous conditions and occurrences and to deal with them safely.
5. Sustained concentration is required as the nature of the job requires the use of hazardous chemicals.
6. The work requires a thorough awareness of processes and risks and a creative and logical approach to improvements and problem solving.
