Job Overview

TE Connectivity\’s Facilities Team conduct facilities and property administration, office planning, corporate leasing and/or real estate coordination. They work closely and provide advice and counsel to company and/or vendor representatives coordinating major facility constructions or modifications or leasing and real estate activities.

Lead and Carry out a wide range of assignments to maintain & improve the efficiency, quality, safety and performance of the site facilities to include the onsite facility maintenance and management of external contractor safety & services. Create supporting facilities safety documentation, reporting and provide training to ensure safe and successful facility implementations.
Providing day to day facilities & safety site support for the teammates, checking and planning maintenance programs, contractor management, environment cost savings, safety improvements, support site with any required pick up / local deliveries of site components, stocks or sundries.
To assist with the safety and environmental improvements on site whilst providing technical support in trouble-shooting facility problems. Providing timely and efficient solutions for all areas of site.

Tasks Summary and Responsibilities:

  • Main responsibiliy is the planning, management & reporting of all site facilities maintenance, property inventory and security supportting to local safety compliance and regulations.
  • To have the ability to create efficient and effective facilities program for the company plant. Use this knowledge to define the parameters and process for other facilities program / imoprovements to follow and provide the appropriate checks and safety considerations on their work to maintain high standards.
  • To provide advice and training to the site for any impacted improvements / initiatives and proposals.
  • Review and monitor contractor services and planning an external maintenance plan to support the in house facilities management and services. Including the management of documentation for such (i.e.e Risk assessments, Certification checks, High Risk Task reviews, Pre job planning, providing defined document management and equipment management proceedures.
  • Use facilities expertise to define, document and provide safe practices, ensuring cost effective, repeatable and high quality practices are used.
  • Become a member of the safety committee and work with production areas to achieve their KPI’s by attending daily meetings and providing any facitlities support to overcome challenges as they arrise.
  • Support stores & desptch team areas to achieve their KPI’s by attending meetings and providing any facitlities support to overcome component or delivery challenges as they arrise.
  • Enable the smooth integration of new infra structure changes, project managing activies with external and internal teammates / contractors.
  • Ensure facilitiies costs are captured and calculated correctly by maintaining the integrity of costed times, budget management.
  • Investigate and initiate methods of environemntal improvement and cost saving projects for the site.
  • To work with the Safety & Environmental teamates to deliver any facilities works.
  • Work with and help roll out TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE) utilise Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s).
  • Keep site well-informed of technical developments and review any facilities operating methods.
  • Observe and comply with Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by the business from time to time.
  • Knowledge&Skills:

    Education: City & Guilds, HNC or linked Safety IOSH, Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance Engineering
    Experience:

  • Maintenance & Safety Management of a manufacturing facility
  • Good practical knowledge of using hand tools, maintenance processes and associated skills.
  • Good IT management skills and reporting
  • Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • Compliance Safety standards for a manufacturing facility
  • The ability to trouble shoots facility problems & resolve.
  • Computer literate using Microsoft 365 software.
  • Previous experience maintaining factory safety & facilities (electrical, plumbing, fixtures, fittings etc)
  • Experience in ensuring quality contractor management with documented procedures, plans, communications with landlord and TE in a timely manner.
  • Identifies and recommends new or improved facilities processes and technical developments for safe working or environmental benefits.
  • Ability to use own initiative to ‘troubleshoot’ problems in areas as they arise.
  • Continuous improvement of facilities infrastructure, buildings, decoration, services and supplies to a standard work.
  • Drive and passion to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be creative.
  • Clean full driving license
  • Desirable Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience with SAP or Sage system.
  • Project management skills when delivering facility projects
  • Environmental and Health and Safety principles used in UK factories
