As a key member of the Medical Strategy team, the Senior Manager, Strategy & Business Development will play a critical role in shaping the portfolio strategy and competitive positioning of the Medical business. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, this role supports strategic decision-making to drive sustainable, above-market growth across organic and inorganic initiatives. This position partners closely with cross-functional leaders to ensure strategies remain responsive to evolving external factors, including technology trends, customer needs, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Growth Leadership
    • Contribute to the development of strategies that drive profitable organic and inorganic growth.
    • Identify and evaluate new growth platforms and opportunities by assessing market attractiveness, competitive dynamics, business models, and “what it takes to win.”
    • Support alignment on strategic direction and execution plans across leadership and cross-functional teams.
    • Help lead the annual strategic planning process and strengthen strategic capabilities across the organization.
  • Market, Competitive & Business Analysis
    • Generate market and business intelligence insights through fact-based analysis of market trends, customer needs, competitive landscapes, and technology advancements.
    • Lead primary and secondary research to inform strategic choices and investment priorities.
    • Constructively challenge existing assumptions to refine “where to play” and “how to win” decisions.
  • Project & Stakeholder Leadership
    • Lead complex, cross-functional strategy projects using a hands-on, hypothesis-driven approach.
    • Develop high-quality project deliverables and executive-level presentations.
    • Build strong relationships across functions and levels to ensure alignment and effective resource allocation.
    • Support strategy deployment and, when needed, assist with implementation to ensure impact.
  • M&A and Inorganic Growth
    • Research, identify, and assess inorganic growth opportunities.
    • Support M&A pipeline development, evaluation, and management.

Your ideal background

  • Experience & Education
    • 3+ years of experience in a top-tier consulting firm, with additional in-house strategy experience in an industrial or healthcare-related company preferred.
    • Experience in MedTech and/or CDMO environments strongly preferred.
    • Exposure to sales, operations, or product management is a plus.
    • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree from a top program highly preferred.
    • Engineering background at undergraduate or graduate level is a strong plus, but not mandatory.
    • M&A deal experience preferred but not required.
