Functional Job Family Description

• Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost‑effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
• Focuses resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis.
• Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
• Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials.
• Coordinates and integrates the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers.
• Identifies and recommends opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain.

Role Summary

• Responsible for global, end-to-end supply planning and optimization across assigned value stream, integrating demand, supply, capacity, and inventory strategies across multiple sites and regions.
• Owns development of global supply plans, scenario modeling, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure customer commitments are met while optimizing cost, service, and working capital.
• Operates at an enterprise level, influencing planning, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics through advanced analytics, planning systems, and cross‑functional collaboration to enable supply chain resilience and agility.
• Lead development and execution of fully integrated global supply plans for assigned value stream.
• Balance global supply and demand, optimizing production footprints for flexibility and cost efficiency.
• Anticipate material, capacity, and supply risks; enable proactive scenario planning and mitigation.
• Define global inventory strategies, replenishment models, and safety stock parameters.
• Manage global capacity planning aligned to customer commitments and business priorities.
• Lead supply chain optimization initiatives including make‑versus‑buy and footprint decisions.
• Coordinate across global planning, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams.
• Support product lifecycle transitions through integrated planning strategies.
• Strong expertise with ERP and advanced planning systems (SAP APO/IBP or equivalent).
• Translate complex planning scenarios into executive‑ready insights.

Experience

• 7+ years of progressive experience in global supply planning, production planning, or materials management.

Competencies & Skills

• Demonstrated experience in multi‑site and multi‑region planning environments.
• Strong influence skills in matrix organizations without direct authority.
• Advanced experience in supply‑demand balancing, capacity planning, and inventory optimization.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional Training & Certifications: APICS CPIM / CSCP preferred; Lean Six Sigma certification a plus.
