Overview
This is a crucial position which provides the link between the planning and production teams, managing the material movement across the shop floor.
Responsibilities
- Manage the flow of production orders from release, through manufacture to delivery into stock on-time delivery to customers.
- Plan capacity for production alongside the production supervisor.
- Allocate capacity to ensure room for urgent drop‑in jobs and re‑works.
- Hold kit short maintenance and ownership for the value stream, ensuring that as soon as parts are available the job is re‑released to the shop floor.
- Attend production PIM 1 & 2 meetings.
- Act as the single point of contact for assembly & supervisor to log quality, ME issues & organise scrap replacements, ensuring the system is updated where jobs are on hold.
- Provide information flow to planners in SAP.
- Work closely with the VS planner, VS supervisor and VS team leader to ensure daily output is aligned with assembly capacity, releasing and tracking urgencies through production.
- Release production orders for assembly line.
- Exception management support.
- Occasional customer interface may be required.
Qualifications
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing workflow and implementing flow improvements.
- Confidence working with computer software including Excel.
- Experience working with SAP is required.
- A positive and proactive approach to work, eager to solve problems and help the business run smoothly.
