Production Scheduler in Hastings

Overview

This is a crucial position which provides the link between the planning and production teams, managing the material movement across the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Manage the flow of production orders from release, through manufacture to delivery into stock on-time delivery to customers.
• Plan capacity for production alongside the production supervisor.
• Allocate capacity to ensure room for urgent drop‑in jobs and re‑works.
• Hold kit short maintenance and ownership for the value stream, ensuring that as soon as parts are available the job is re‑released to the shop floor.
• Attend production PIM 1 & 2 meetings.
• Act as the single point of contact for assembly & supervisor to log quality, ME issues & organise scrap replacements, ensuring the system is updated where jobs are on hold.
• Provide information flow to planners in SAP.
• Work closely with the VS planner, VS supervisor and VS team leader to ensure daily output is aligned with assembly capacity, releasing and tracking urgencies through production.
• Release production orders for assembly line.
• Exception management support.
• Occasional customer interface may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing workflow and implementing flow improvements.
• Confidence working with computer software including Excel.
• Experience working with SAP is required.
• A positive and proactive approach to work, eager to solve problems and help the business run smoothly.
