The Assembly Scheduler role provides the link between the planning and production teams, managing the material movement across the shop floor with a focus on timely delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide link between planning and production teams, managing material movement across shop floor.
- Ensure flow of production orders from release through manufacturing to delivery into stock on-time delivery to customers.
- Allocate capacity to accommodate urgent drop‑in jobs and reworks.
- Maintain kits and own value stream; re‑release jobs as soon as parts are available.
- Attend production PIM1 & 2 meetings.
- Serve as single point of contact for assembly and supervisor to log quality and mechanical engineering issues, organize scrap replacements, and keep system updated for jobs on hold.
- Provide information flow to planners in SAP.
- Work closely with VS planner, VS supervisor, and VS team leader to align daily output with assembly capacity and urgencies, tracking through production.
- Release production orders for assembly line.
- Operationally report to VS supervisor; line manager remains with supply chain.
- Provide exception management support LB10.
Qualifications
- Experience managing workflow and implementing flow improvements is desirable.
- Confidence working with computer software including Excel is key.
- Experience working with SAP is required.
- Positive and proactive approach to work.
- Ability to engage and work with key stakeholders.
- Occasional customer interface may be required.
