  • Preparing CAPEX submissions, including financial justification, project scope and expenditure forecasts.
  • Raising purchase orders using SAP for purchasing of equipment and contractor services.
  • Managing project schedules, resources, risks and stakeholder communications.
  • Producing engineering designs, manufacturing cell layouts and CAD drawings to support project implementation, with 3D modelling capability considered advantageous.
  • Working with Industrial Engineering and Continuous Improvement teams to develop Value Stream and Workstation layouts using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Coordinating equipment delivery, installation, commissioning, validation and production readiness activities.
  • Supervising contractors and internal resources during installation activities and ensuring adherence to site safety requirements.
  • Reviewing and approving Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and ensuring compliance with Permit to Work processes.
  • Supporting training activities and operational handover alongside Manufacturing Engineering teams.
  • Managing engineering change requests and ensuring all project documentation complies with quality, regulatory and internal change management requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company standards relating to machinery safety, CE/UKCA requirements, CDM regulations, PUWER regulations, machine guarding, control reliability and contractor management.
  • Building effective relationships across all levels of the organisation, from shop floor operators to senior leadership, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Providing wider engineering project support across the site following implementation of the new value stream.

Your ideal background:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience managing engineering projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering capital equipment projects from concept to completion.
  • Experience specifying, procuring, installing and commissioning equipment.
  • Engineering design experience including mechanical design and factory layouts.
  • Experience managing CAPEX budgets and preparing business cases.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate across functions and organisational levels.
  • Strong leadership, planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
  • Self‑motivated, results-driven and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of international equipment movement.
  • Experience in injection moulding, plastics manufacturing or implementing new production lines.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably CREO or Inventor.
  • Project Management qualification such as APM, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Project.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and value stream design.
