Job Overview

The PMO Governance Manager will lead the development and enforcement of governance frameworks for New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing projects. This role ensures that all product development and industrialization initiatives are executed with rigor, transparency, and alignment to strategic, regulatory, and operational goals. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in manufacturing environments, product lifecycle governance, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, supply chain, and quality.

Job Requirements

  • Develop and maintain governance structures for NPI programs, ensuring stage-gate processes, design reviews and industrial readiness assessments are consistently applied across all projects.
  • Ensure governance compliance across manufacturing scale-up, tooling and process validation projects, with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) metrics.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure governance processes support seamless product transitions from design to production.
  • Oversee the NPI and manufacturing project portfolio, providing executive-level reporting on project health, risks, resource utilization and milestone adherence.
  • Implement risk management practices tailored to product development and manufacturing, including regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the deployment and continuous improvement of project management tools to support governance and traceability.
  • Train and coach project teams on governance standards, project lifecycle management and best practices in NPI and manufacturing project execution.

What your background should look like

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management or related field
  • Project Management certification e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma
  • 7+ years of experience in project/program management with at least 3 years in a governance or PMO role focused on NPI and/or manufacturing/maintenance environment
  • Proficiency in project and product lifecycle tools e.g. SAP, Teamcenter, Tableau, MS Project
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and analytical skills
  • Experience in fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and DFMEA/PFMEA methodologies
