TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

YOUR MAIN TASKS:

  1. Liaison to Manufacturing in Hastings plant location
  2. Create Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
  3. Make changes to drawings in SolidWorks/CREO/ZWCAD to support UK MIL or General Market Controlled ECR/ECNs
  4. Address requests for product extensions, drawing changes, engineering quotes
  5. Handle requests to get part extended and costed SAP
  6. Support Expanded Bean Product Line for changes and product extensions
  7. Tolerance analysis
  8. Create design verification test (DVT)/Qual test plans, create test request
  9. Support / witness testing in the lab
  10. DVT/Qual cable assy design / drawings, component modeling / print creation
  11. Participate in DFMEA/PFMEA
  12. Support design review preparation / presentation
  13. Model shop requests
  14. Support build or build prototype parts

YOUR IDEAL BACKGROUND:

  1. B.S. in Mechanical or optoelectronic engineering
  2. 5-8 years design and new product development experience, preferably with electronic or optoelectronic related assemblies, hardware, and components
  3. UK MIL access required
  4. Demonstrated teamwork skills in a high paced environment
  5. An understanding of fiber optic systems is preferred
  6. Experience identifying and working with component suppliers to source components necessary to meet design requirements
  7. SAP experience
  8. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
  9. Proficient with MS Office software
  10. Experience with Solid works, CREO and Autocad
