Job Overview

This is a crucial position which provides the link between the planning and production teams, managing the material movement across the shop floor. The role is responsible for the flow of production orders from the point of release, through manufacture to delivery into stock on-time delivery to our customers.

Your new role:

  • Responsible for planning the capacity for production alongside the production supervisor.
  • Responsible for the allocation of capacity to ensure room for urgent drop-in jobs and re-works.
  • Responsible for the kit short maintenance and ownership for the value stream, ensuring that as soon as parts are available the job is re-released to the shop floor.
  • Attending production PIM 1 & 2 meetings.
  • Single point of contact for assembly & supervisor to log quality, ME issues & organise scrap replacements ensuring the system is updated where jobs are on hold in the long text for information flow to planners in SAP.
  • Working closely with the VS planner, VS supervisor and VS team leader to ensure daily output is aligned with assembly capacity and urgencies are released and tracked through production.
  • Responsible for the releasing of production orders for the assembly line, operationally reporting to VS supervisor, with line manager remaining with supply chain.
  • Exception management support.

Your ideal background:

  • Strong stakeholder management.
  • Experience managing workflow and implementing flow improvements is desirable.
  • Confidence working with computer software including Excel is key.
  • Experience working with SAP is required.
  • A positive and proactive approach to work, eager to solve problems and help the business run smoothly.
  • Occasional customer interface may be required.
