Joining TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams offers an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in the company's supply chain and production processes. TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labour requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
Your main tasks:
- Full responsibility for materials planning related to assigned product line through managing all internal customer calls, and determining what action to take and communicating information as required to the rest of the team.
- Maintenance of rolling order books for customer requirements, ensuring plans are kept up to date and customers notified in advance of any changes to order.
- Monthly & quarterly billings & inventory targets for assigned GPL.
- Ensuring that material and capacity feasible production plan is set to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time to their requirement.
- Review and resolve mid to long range schedule conflicts ensuring supply balance and improved inventory, raising any supply issues or escalations.
- Introduction and management of drawing changes throughout the supply chain.
- Updating materials plan in preparation for the weekly load meeting.
- Liaising with Production Scheduler/Value stream leader on any changes to the production or materials plan.
- Reviewing MOQs, lead-times and safety stocks with Procurement, manufacturing and adjusting where appropriate.
- Attending daily PIM meetings, weekly load meetings with supervisors and management when required.
Your ideal background:
- 2 – 3 years of experience in materials or production planning.
- Experience in SAP is a must have or similar MRP system.
- Degree level or equivalent.
- Highly effective communication skills in all forms.
- Good organizational skills with an ability to work effectively to deadlines.
- A high attention to detail with an ability to follow through on commitments.
- Strong numeracy and IT skills including intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Excel.
