Job Overview
The Fibre Optic Assembly Operator will be required to develop a full understanding and working knowledge of the department procedures. They will recommend improvements where possible whilst ensuring quality standards are met and assist the Production Supervisor in achieving all departmental performance criteria, including training.
Job Requirements
- Ensure assembled connectors meet all internal and customer quality and performance requirements
- Collaborate with Production Engineers to prepare accurate process specifications and routings before production
- Assist with assembly of prototype and first-build units to develop robust and repeatable production methods
- Identify tooling, gauging, and testing needs to support efficient production
- Monitor part availability, highlight shortages, and help prioritize workflow for on-time delivery
- Escalate deviations from standard build procedures or quality requirements to departmental supervision
- Support departmental goals including on-time delivery and productivity targets
- Maintain high workplace organization standards in line with 5S and audit expectations
- Encourage a positive and collaborative team environment
- Work with discipline and independence, requiring minimal supervision
- Complete reasonable tasks requested by the Production Manager or Supervisor
- Follow all Health & Safety regulations and company procedures
- Adhere to departmental rules and demonstrate a flexible, proactive approach to work
