Global Communications Lead (m/f/d) – Remote

Job Overview

You’re a passionate storyteller and would like to share how technology can accelerate the transition to renewable power generation. You’re experienced in developing internal communications programs that help drive cultural change. And you want to be part of a growing business in a global organization.

The Global Communications Lead is responsible for developing and executing all aspects of the business unit’s (BU) communications activities, including executive communications, employee engagement, reputation management, media relations, and content development for earned and company-owned communications channels. You will work closely with senior executives, HR and other functional leaders, and TE’s marketing and communications community. This position reports to the Senior Director of Global Marketing and Communications.

Remote in United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Poland, France, Italy or Spain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive leadership and internal communications program for the business unit, from concept to execution, to drive greater employee engagement and support cultural change.
  • Program execution, from messaging and media creation to management of internal digital channels, including development of a content calendar; writing, editing and publishing internal stories; and driving the executive quarterly update program.
  • Partner with BU senior management to plan and deploy informative and compelling executive communications.
  • Collaborate with and further develop a global network of “communications champions” at major sites and across key functions within the Energy business and orchestrate a holistic, robust and proactive localized communications program that engages all office and manufacturing employees.
  • Develop and implement a trade media and industry partner communications program that brings the TE story to life and amplifies TE’s brand reputation.
  • Build and nurture relations with trade media and technical journalists in the Energy sector.
  • Plan and execute communications activities around new product introductions, key industry events and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Organize media training and crisis communications preparation exercises for BU leadership.
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure effectiveness, progress and impact of internal and external communications programs.
  • Support BU leadership and corporate communications in managing internal and external communications related to crisis, M&A communications, and investor relations.
  • Establish and manage agency relationships, including evaluation, selection, briefing and project management.

What your background should look like

  • 6+ years of professional communications experience in an international B2B or technological environment and a demonstrated ability to produce effective communication strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, journalism, marketing, business or similar discipline required; native or near-native English skill level required.
  • Exceptional writing skills, ability to understand and distill information, be concise and capture interest; adept at both originating materials and editing the work of others.
  • Passionate about storytelling: ability to recognize, research, source and craft stories around the company brand and value proposition in target markets (renewable energy, power infrastructure).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and counsel senior leadership.
  • Self-directed with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience providing direction to agencies and managing vendor relationships and budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills with a proven ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy, tact and diplomacy.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office, proficient in digital/social enterprise tools, with experience creating visual and video content using tools like Adobe Express.
  • Readiness to travel 10-25%.
