Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand’s largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised learning programmes from early childhood to NCEA Level 3.

We are looking for a creative, innovative secondary kaiako (teacher) who’s a subject expert in English to join our team in our Christchurch tari (office).
Responsibilities
- Engage with our ākonga online and face‑to‑face at huinga ako (advisories) and events.
- Work onsite with colleagues in our regional offices.
- Provide flexible working arrangements, being able to request to work from home for up to two days per week.
- Apply a sound knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Collaborate, innovate, and build effective relationships.
Qualifications
- Certified teacher, eligible to teach secondary (Years 7–15).
- Subject expert in English.
- Sound knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Willingness to learn, innovate, and use technology to improve education outcomes.
- Commitment to support Māori and Pasifika learners.
